CROATIAN MUSSELS (or What We Did On Our Holidays)
On Croatia's Peljesac Peninsula, last August, Irena Carlton and a hungry Amber crew spent the day with great local winemakers Arsen and Nada Rosso, as he made bread in a bell oven, mussels with white wine, tomatoes and breadcrumbs and krostula pastry biscuits. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful meal. You may not want to make it in the quantities shown here, but scale it down. Meanwhile, if you're ever on the Peljesac Peninsula, between Ston and Orebic, iimmediately after passing the turning down to Trpanj, stop off and buy a few bottles of their Postup - a spectacularly good, chalky red wine!
You can also watch Irena's previous World's Kitchen episodes here.
